Measurement methods, Generalized Measurement system, Static performance characteristics, Errors and their classification.

Linear measurements: Linear Measurement Instruments like Vernier calliper, Micrometer, Vernier Height Gauge, Slip gauges, Limit gauges etc.

Angular measurements: Discussion about sine bar, Angle Dekkor and Autocillimator, angle gauges and Spirit Level.

Metrology: Basics of Metrology, Need for Inspection, Accuracy and Precision, Objectives, Standards of measurements.
